One of the things that has really hurt this season of Supergirl, and just downright confused me, is the lack of a «big-bad». At one point it could have been Lillian Luthor, then they toyed with the idea of having Lena Luthor turn evil, and now perhaps it could be Rhea, Mon-El’s mother. I understand there isn’t one right way to do things, but it always helps to have a through-line of storytelling. I knew that it was time for Maggie and Jackson to break up at the end of last season. Above all, Alex is a strong woman, she fights for what she believes in and has a difficult time giving up. When she was kidnapped by her childhood friend, Rick Malverne, she never stopped trying to escape and was able to use her D.E.O. training to help her survive. Before the wedding, Alex spoke to Kara about the decision to reveal her identity to return to CatCo. The next morning, Alex was nervous about marrying Kelly, but was supported by Eliza, Kara, and Esme.
In «Search Party», there is an awkward moment between them when Vivienne Laurent indicates that Jordan and Maggie are a possible couple. Later, they both sit together in SafeSpace, and there is an awkward moment of embarrassment when Jordan touches Maggie and she smiles back. Distraught over the loss and the apparent lack of a deeper meaning behind the accident, he wanted to get out, but he had to wait for the chamber to depressurize. He had trouble understanding why they got to live while Nisha didn’t. Maggie suggested he had some PTSD after his family empire crumbled and April leaving. Jackson pointed out there were also good things in his life and told her that he loved her. He apologized for the accidental proposal and said he had some stuff to figure out.
